Year in Industry Placement – Assistant Data Scientist
About this position:
We are looking for an ambitious Year in Industry student to join our Data Scientist team in our Bristol Data hub for a one-year placement, starting Summer 2020. You will be a bright student with a STEM background and a desire to be challenged. You must be a self-starter and a good team player with excellent communication skills.
Environment and Hours
• Based in modern offices in Bristol city centre
• 37.5 hours per week
• 1-year placement starting July 2020
• 23 days’ paid holiday + UK bank holidays
• Salary of £18,000 per annum
During the placement you will be part of a development team and help with ongoing project work. In addition to this you will be assigned an individual project to be completed over the year with us.
Alongside the other Year in Industry students, you will also be a STEM Ambassador for the company, lead on STEM activities and represent Malvern Panalytical at STEM events throughout the year.

Developing new machine learning models to enable advanced particle characterisation.
During 2019 Malvern Panalytical became a Strategic Industrial Partner with Bristol University. As part of your role we may ask you to help with co-ordination of activities within that partnership.
In addition, we have a number of development roles based in Malvern, Worcestershire, which are separately advertised.
