In this role you will support the new product developments in Malvern Panalytical's X-ray fluorescence (XRF) products, which are used for materials analysis in scientific and industrial product and process control. You will contribute to the design, coding and testing of our analytical software. via designing, implementing and testing mathematical models in an efficient way and optimized for speed.

What are your responsibilities?

  • Implementing and (automatic) testing of mathematical models. You will implement new features and mathematical models in our analytical user software and ensure the correct functioning.

  • To ensure that the software design is robust, resulting in accurate, reliable and maintainable and extendable analytical software.

  • Implementation of the mathematical models in an efficient way and optimized for speed.

  • Design and coding of high quality analytical software.

  • You will be working with XRF systems and solving product problems, as they relate to analytical software.

  • You will work closely together in a team in a multi-disciplinary environment and will participate in the complete software development cycle from requirements analysis to the deployment of the product.

  • You are fluent in English and prepared to (learn to) understand Dutch

Great to have?

  • A master in engineering, physics, mathematics, computational science or related field

  • Experience in mathematical modelling is required

  • Experience with statistical data analysis and machine learning techniques would be helpful

  • In depth knowledge of computational physics (numerical mathematics and recipes) and algorithm development

  • Experience with C#, Python agile methodologies and test-driven development

  • In depth knowledge and understanding of the c# development environment and Visual Studio framework and combines both skills to write highly efficient algorithms
