We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious scientist/engineer with preferably deep experience and knowledge in X-Ray Powder Diffraction and crystallography. The candidate will support our sales organization from a commercial and technical point of view and in contribute to the innovation and optimization of products, methods, and solutions.

Job description – main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Providing demonstrations and conducting feasibility studies for international prospects in the Malvern Panalytical Application Laboratory in Almelo, The Netherlands.

  • Training of customers during courses in Almelo or at customer sites.

  • Investigating the XRD market and possibilities for cross-selling via intense customer contacts and visits of international conferences and exhibitions.

  • Contributing to the development and testing of future products and solutions in close cooperation with the R&D department.

  • Contributing to Malvern Panalytical product positioning and promotion by writing commercial materials and scientific articles.

Job Requirements & competencies

  • A solid background in the field of crystallography, Rietveld refinement, X-Ray Powder Diffraction, structure solution from powder data is necessary; knowledge of Single Crystal Diffraction, diffraction by means of other probes (neutrons, electrons) and any other X-ray scattering techniques are very welcome.

  • Education in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering, Mineralogy or any other related disciplines.

  • Experience in scientific programming is welcome.

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in scientific laboratories.

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

  • Good communication and teaching skills.

  • Can-do mentality: pro-active and autonomous attitude.

  • Commercially oriented and results-driven.

  • Experience in working in projects and team player.

  • Availability to international travels when safe to do and necessary.
