We are looking for an Analytical Data Scientist who will strengthen our R&D team with competence around data analysis and analytical methodology. You will be working on complex customer solutions that are used for material analysis in scientific and industrial products and process control. In this role you are responsible for the development and validation of analytical methodology in order to improve and optimize the customer processes and the performance of our analytical instrumentation.

What are your going to do?

  • You will provide application support to users, helping them to use the equipment to the best level of performance and application.

  • The application scientist is responsible for the development and validation of analytical methodology in order to improve and optimize the customer processes and the performance of our analytical instrumentation.

  • You will combine data from a variety of analytical techniques and will build predictive models to bring added value to our customer.

  • You are able to understand the customer needs and translate these in a data driven solution.

  • As a member of the R&D team, the scientist will cooperate with the market segment application group and the engineers in the R&D department in order to develop new innovative solutions.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • A University degree in Chemistry or Physics or similar.

  • Experience with chemometrics or data science.

  • Excellent team player with good communication skills.

  • Customer and business oriented. Ability to understand the customer needs and to translate these in workable data driven solutions.

  • Strongly result-driven. Drive to work in a high-tech environment with the ambition to develop solutions with a strong competitive edge.

  • Experience with various analytical techniques preferred.

  • Able to acquire knowledge of a broad range of analytical techniques.

  • Entrepreneurial and self-propelling.

  • Fluent (speaking and writing) in English.

Great to have

  • PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics
